My Parents
I was raised by hardworking, sacrificing parents who gave everything to build a life for our family. Growing up, "we can't afford it" was something I heard often, and it quietly shaped how I viewed money, worth, and belonging. My parents worked 12-hour days to put food on the table 🍽️ and a roof over our heads 🏠 — for them, money wasn't about status. It was about survival.
This blog is as much a tribute to their resilience as it is my own journey 🕊️.
Today
I now live in Barrie, Ontario — a financial and lifestyle choice that aligns with my health and personal goals. I'm learning to redefine what money means to me: freedom, generosity, independence, and security 🌱. The FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) and DINK (Double Income, No Kids) communities have been a big part of shifting my scarcity mindset toward something healthier.
This is where I share it all — the good, the bad, and the awkward 🎨. Still figuring it out, one story at a time 📚🐹
